PGI: CANTRINA: ITS FIRST TWENTY YEARS - Ioeilvino

We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we were able to taste her wines several times over the years. Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina winery. Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur who had died in an accident the year before, and who was passionate about French wines, and had planted some ten years earlier some vineyards for the production of wines to be consumed in his own premises. Diego Lavo, who ran a company specialising in planting vineyards, came to her aid in this venture. Thus were born the first three wines, marketed from the 1999 vintage. Over the years, the area under vines has increased; there are now eight hectares under vine, divided into three different plots, for a production of around 40 thousand bottles, divided into eight different labels. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the winery, three vertical tastings of the first wines produced by the company were offered, from the first vintage, i.e. 1999, to those currently on the market. The three wines, which have seen considerable changes in their elaboration over the years, are: Igt Benaco Bresciano Bianco “Rinè”; Igt Benaco Bresciano Rosso “Nepomuceno” and Vino Bianco Passito “Sole di Dario”. Brescia protagonist at the turning point Vinitaly - Brescia Oggi

posted on 8 April 2014
(...) Although I still believe that Vinitaly is not the right event for very small niche companies like mine, I believe that when participation is organised by a consortium, it becomes interesting to be there because the territory is more valuable than the individual company,' says Cristina Inganni of Cantrina in Bedizzole. However, I am not here with a commercial approach, but to make an investment in terms of public relations and networking. (...)

Nepomuceno is a perfect wine - La Stampa

“Here in Valtènesi you can feel the air of Lake Garda and Cristina has adopted the philosophy of «free exercise of style»: in the vineyard and in the cellar. In the 1990s, the first experiments were carried out in an already existing pinot noir vineyard, to grow to today's six hectares under vine (30 thousand bottles). Now, the wine that amazed me is called Nepomuceno, a blend of merlot (70%) rebo and marzemino, fermented in steel for about 15 days and aged for 24 months in barriques and tonneaux. It has an impenetrable ruby colour, and on the nose you can smell the juices of small red fruits. But what is striking is the softness on the palate, which then opens up with finely spiced fresh notes, always maintaining a perfect, spectacular roundness.’

Donne del Vivo, Cristina Inganni is the new delegate in Lombardy - Brescia Oggi

Wine “Made in Lombardy”? It is increasingly declined in female terms. In the words of Cristina Inganni, owner of the Cantrina winery in Bedizzole, chosen in recent days as the new delegate of the regional section of the national «Women of Wine» movement. A LEADERSHIP that remains in Brescian hands, therefore, considering that the Garda producer has received the baton from the hands of Maddalena Bersi Serlini from Franciacorta.
