A memorable tasting in Trento - Civiltà del bere

Civiltà del Bere published an article describing the wine of Azienda Agricola Cantrina, here are the most important points: (...) From the volcanoes to the glacial moraine with Nepomuceno, Merlot IGT Benaco Bresciano 2003 from the Cantrina winery in Bedizzole (Brescia) where only international grape varieties are cultivated. Diego Lavo, owner with his wife Cristina Inganni, emphasised the importance of precisely this type of soil squeezed between fluvial and glacial deposits that characterises their Merlot. The vintage was perfect because an unexpected hailstorm in June had destroyed the 70% of grapes. This forced thinning, which we, lucidly, would never have had the courage to do, allowed the grapes to ripen excellently, rich in glycerine and alcohol. (...)

A pure Merlot of unprecedented power (15° alcohol and plenty of density) but also perfectly balanced, harmonious and even flowing in spite of the analytical data. And Nepomuceno 2003 (from San Giovanni Nepomuceno) from Cantrina di Bedizzole in the Brescia area, a small winery run with extraordinary passion by Cristina Inganni.

I Vigneti della Cantrina - Informa Cibo

The Azienda Agricola “Cantrina” managed, in the first person, by Crìstina Inganni has succeeded in making this synthesis, dedicating its production to the finest crus of a historic wine house, desired by Dario Dattoli, a lover of French wines, “transferred” to the gentle hills of Lake Garda. Upon the untimely death of the young entrepreneur Dario Dattoli (1998), his young wife Cristina Inganni, a set designer by profession in Milan (Brera Academy) decided to continue the project with the collaboration of Diego Lavo, an expert in the field of agriculture and wine production, assisted by the Zynè oenological team.

Uncorked Bottles - Internet Gourmet

Heretic 2003 Cantrina Heretic, just heretic. When you tell people it's a pinot noir raisin wine, they cringe. Then they taste it and... It took Cristina Inganni's winemaking extremism to come up with such a wine. Which is the child of her vintage: a very hot 2003. And since they have quite a lot of pinot noir at Cantrina, a contradina in the extreme hinterland of Lake Garda in the Brescia area, and the grapes were over-ripe, Cristina decided to dare the unthinkable. And so, a red wine of absolute heresy was born. A single barrique. Then finished in a few 0.375 litre bottles.
