A memorable tasting in Trento - Civiltà del bere
Civiltà del Bere published an article describing the wine of Azienda Agricola Cantrina, here are the most important points:

From the volcanoes to the glacial moraine with Nepomuceno, Merlot IGT Benaco Bresciano 2003 from the Cantrina winery in Bedizzole (Brescia) where only international grape varieties are cultivated. Diego Lavo, owner with his wife Cristina Inganni, emphasised the importance of precisely this type of soil squeezed between fluvial and glacial deposits that characterises their Merlot.
The vintage was perfect because an unexpected hailstorm in June had destroyed the 70% of grapes. This forced thinning, which we, lucidly, would never have had the courage to do, allowed the grapes to ripen excellently, rich in glycerine and alcohol. (...)
