PGI: CANTRINA: ITS FIRST TWENTY YEARS - Ioeilvino

We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we were able to taste her wines several times over the years. Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina winery. Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur who had died in an accident the year before, and who was passionate about French wines, and had planted some ten years earlier some vineyards for the production of wines to be consumed in his own premises. Diego Lavo, who ran a company specialising in planting vineyards, came to her aid in this venture. Thus were born the first three wines, marketed from the 1999 vintage. Over the years, the area under vines has increased; there are now eight hectares under vine, divided into three different plots, for a production of around 40 thousand bottles, divided into eight different labels. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the winery, three vertical tastings of the first wines produced by the company were offered, from the first vintage, i.e. 1999, to those currently on the market. The three wines, which have seen considerable changes in their elaboration over the years, are: Igt Benaco Bresciano Bianco “Rinè”; Igt Benaco Bresciano Rosso “Nepomuceno” and Vino Bianco Passito “Sole di Dario”. Il Sole di Dario Vdt 2007 | Azienda Agricola Cantrina di Cristina Inganni, Bedizzole (Brescia) | www.cantrina.it A very original blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Riesling (Dario Dattoli, the founder of Cantrina, to whom the wine was dedicated, wanted it that way) obtained from selected grapes, placed in boxes and left to dry for about three months. Low in alcohol (11°), it has a substantial residual sugar content (190 grams/litre) contrasted by considerable acidity. Thanks to these characteristics and the consistent aromatic content of the starting grapes, the wine plays on perfect balance, in the aromas as well as in the taste. The colour is golden yellow with amber hints.

Inganni (Cantrina): it makes sense to be here as a consortium - Giornale di Brescia

For the second year, the Cantrina winery from Bedizzole is taking part in Vinitaly as part of the Valtènesi consortium stand, this time shared with Lugana. (...) Cantrina produces 35,000 bottles a year and cultivates six hectares of its own land plus two leased hectares. The company exports 30% of its production, but aims to grow further across the border. “That is why we participated in the Prowein trade fair in Düsseldorf, a fundamental opportunity to make ourselves known on foreign markets”.
