Cantrina: the first twenty years - WineSurf
We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we have been able to taste her wines several times over the years. Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur who had unfortunately died in an accident the year before and a great fan of French wines. He had planted some ten years earlier some vineyards for the production of wines to be consumed on his premises. Diego Lavo, who had a company specialising in planting vineyards, came to her aid in this venture.
Thus the first three wines were born, marketed starting with the 1999 vintage. Over the years, the area under vines has increased, and there are now eight hectares under vines, divided into three different plots, for a production of around 40 thousand bottles, divided into eight different labels.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the winery, three vertical tastings of the first wines produced by the company were offered, from the first vintage, i.e. 1999, to those currently on the market. The three wines, which have seen considerable changes in their elaboration over the years, are: Igt Benaco Bresciano Bianco “Rinè”, : Igt Benaco Bresciano Rosso “Nepomuceno” and Vino Bianco Passito “Sole di Dario”.
