Cristina Inganni and the first twenty years of Cantrina - Wine Routes
We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we have been able to taste her wines several times over the years.
Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina company.
Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur who had died in an accident the year before, and who was passionate about French wines, and had planted some ten years earlier some vineyards for the production of wines to be consumed in his own premises.
In this endeavour, she was helped by Diego Lavo, who had a company specialising in vineyard installations.
Thus were born the first three wines, marketed from the 1999 vintage.
Over the years, the area under vines has increased; there are now eight hectares under vines, divided into three different plots, for a production of about 40 thousand bottles, divided into eight different labels.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the winery, three verticals of the first wines produced by the company were offered, from the first vintage, i.e. 1999, to those currently on the market.
The three wines, which have seen considerable changes in their elaboration over the years, are: Igt Benaco Bresciano White “Rinè”, Igt Benaco Bresciano Red “Nepomuceno” and Raisin White Wine “Sole di Dario”. (...)
