We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we were able to taste her wines several times over the years. Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina winery.
Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur who had died in an accident the year before, and who was passionate about French wines. Diego Lavo, who had a company specialising in planting vineyards, came to her aid in this venture.
Thus the first three wines were born, marketed starting with the 1999 vintage. Over the years, the area under vines has increased; there are now eight hectares under vines, divided into three different plots, for a production of around 40 thousand bottles, divided into eight different labels. (...)
