Valtènesi: Cantrina e seus vinhos orgânicos

It is wonderful to arrive at the winery during the grape harvest. The green leaves, the full bunches of grapes, the vineyards covered in herbs and the warm summer sun. I met Cristina, the owner of Azienda Agricola Cantrina, who guided me through a tasting of all her wines. It was an incredible experience, not only for the territory, but also to get to know the personality of Cantrina.
The success of a company is due to its authenticity and the quality of its results. An organic winery, it cultivates the indigenous Groppello grape in three Denominazione di Origine Controllata versions: the rosé ‘A Rose, is a rose’, liquid poetry of Riviera del Garda Classico Valtènesi Chiaretto, 100% Groppello, after pressing only the flower must is obtained with maturation for a few months in steel tanks, the slightly orangey rosé, unreleased, ‘My Roses’ Riviera del Garda Classico Valtènesi Chiaretto, 90% Groppello and 10% Pinot Nero, fermentation and ageing take place on their own yeasts, in red wine tonneaux used for a year and a further 18 months in steel vats, the classic ‘Groppello’ in purity Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello, Groppello Gentile 90%, Groppello di Mocasina 10%, ageing in cement vats.
