I Vigneti della Cantrina - Informa Cibo

This is how Informa Cibo describes Azienda Agricola Cantrina in an article “I Vigneti della Cantrina”, here are the highlights: (...) The Azienda Agricola “Cantrina” managed, in the first person by Crìstina Inganni has managed to make this synthesis, dedicating its production towards the finest crus of a historic wine house, wanted by Dario Dattoli, a French wine enthusiast, “transferred” to the gentle hills of Lake Garda. Upon the untimely death of the young entrepreneur Dario Dattoli (1998), his young wife Cristina Inganni, a set designer by profession in Milan (Brera Academy) decided to continue the project with the collaboration of Diego Lavo, an expert in the field of agriculture and wine, assisted by the Zynè oenological team. (...) (...) “Talking about Cristina Inganni as an entrepreneur and as a woman is like talking about a character in some love book, where everything is centred on passions, on emotions so strong that they make you gasp. And like the plot of a novel, where the heroine, destined to live a life as a set designer, amidst colours, comedies and, fantastic dreams, is catapulted by love into the world of viticulture. Where now, the scenery is her extensive vineyards and where the colours, given by nature, create an almost romantic vision in that generous land in the Brescia area, where passion and love remain the basis of her way of being. Walking through its vineyards, one cannot help but feel, taste in the air that passion that distinguishes it. And as in a beautiful painting, one does not linger to understand, but just savours it with all the senses at one's disposal,” (this is how Alessandra Ghisleni expressed it in “Wine Internactional”) The name “Cantrina” is none other than the name of the hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole (BS), an ancient rural village on the morainic hills of Lake Carda that slope down to the River Chiese here. (...) (...) Cristina Inganni, now owner of the “Cantrina” company, has focused her production on five varieties of wine. The philosophy of the young winery is to respect the raw material, which is highly selected, in order to always obtain the best in the wine-making cycle, but with reduced yields. Cantrina's labels include “Sole di Dario” (to remember her husband, the founder of Cantrina), a sweet passito wine; then “Rine” ITG. Benaco bresciano white, “Corteccio” IGT Benaco bresciano Pinot Nero “Zerdi” ITG Benaco bresciano red, “Nepomuceno” ITG Benaco bresciano merlot. The climatic position of the amphitheatre in which the rows of vines are laid out allows for the production of highly prized Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon, Semillon, Merlot, Rebo, Marzenino, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot. After a period of ageing in oak barrels, these wines are bottled to reach their tasting peak after two years. The Azienda Agricola “Cantrina” is a member of the Benaco bresciano ITG wine protection consortium.

Cantrina di Bedizzole in the front row at the debutante ball at Vinitaly - Giornale di Brescia

(...) He made us taste a wine called Eretico on the day of the Pope's funeral, but any less than pious intention must be firmly denied. Eretico adheres to the rules of oenology and is a Pinot Noir passito produced as a trial in that incredible year for heat and drought that was 2003. The experiment is intriguing and the result even more so. To be tried again. Proposing the Eretico wine is the Cantrina winery, which is making its debut at Vinitaly in a new, aggressive, communicative guise. The product, for those who could find Cantrina di Bedizzole, was already there. Cristina Inganni gloats about her new role and the new attention, which took the form of interested business contacts at Vinitaly. (...)

Cantrina: outpost of tradition - Brescia Oggi

Agricola Cantrina is the small outpost of Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo, a woman of wine with a natural inclination towards art, who has decided to bet on a production policy made up of small numbers, great qualitative ambitions, and particularly significant choices such as that of renouncing, starting with the bottling of the 2004 production, the Garda DOC in favour of the Benaco Bresciano Typical Geographical Indication. «It is a decision that stems from the desire to link our production in depth to the territory, betting on a denomination that is the exclusive property of the area," explains Cristina, summarising the philosophy of a company that has always been reluctant to follow the traditional production guidelines of the area. Founded in 1990 by Dario Dattoli, a well-known Brescian restaurateur and winemaker by passion, the winery was conceived from the outset as a small centre for experimentation and the production of well-structured red wines. With the untimely death of the owner in 1998, his wife Cristina Inganni, a graduate of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, a career that began as a set designer and interior decorator, decided to continue the singular oenological adventure, thanks also to her meeting with the agrarian expert, Diego Lavo: an encounter that not only resulted in marriage in 2000, but also opened a new chapter in the history of Cantrina.
