IGP GUARANTEED. TWENTY YEARS IN CANT(R)INA... - High Fidelity

The Brescian winery celebrates its 20th anniversary with a vertical tasting of the three wines produced since 1999: the Igt Benaco Bresciano Bianco “Rinè”, the Igt Benaco Bresciano Rosso “Nepomuceno” and the Passito “Sole di Dario”. Here is how it went. We have known Cristina Inganni practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine and have been able to taste her wines several times over the years. Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina winery. Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to pursue the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a late lamented Brescian restaurateur with a passion for French wines, who had planted some ten years earlier some vineyards for the production of wines to be consumed on his premises. Diego Lavo, owner of a company specialising in vineyard plantings, came to her aid in this venture. Thus were born the first three wines, marketed from the 1999 vintage. Over the course of time, the area under vines has increased, and there are now eight hectares under vine, divided into three different plots, for a production of around 40,000 bottles, divided into eight labels. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the winery, three vertical tastings of the first wines produced by the company were offered, from the first vintage, i.e. 1999, to those currently on the market. The three wines, which have seen considerable changes in their elaboration over the years, are the Igt Benaco Bresciano Bianco “Rinè”, the Igt Benaco Bresciano Rosso “Nepomuceno” and the Passito “Sole di Dario”. We were there and here are our impressions. (...) Continue reading.

Cantrina is a tiny rural hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole, in the Brescia hinterland of Lake Garda. But it is also the name of the beautiful winery of Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo, founded in 1999. (...) The range of labels offered by the Cantrina company has naturalness, integrity and respect for the land as its common thread. The Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello '23, which we awarded for the best value for money in the region in the Gambero Rosso's Berebene 2025 guide, is also a spokesman for these demands.

Food and wine stories
The name of the winery is borrowed from “a tiny rural village of Valtènesi located in the municipality of Bedizzole, in the Brescia hinterland of Lake Garda in Lombardy”. In fact, it is in Cantrina that Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo live and work, the founders of this small, strictly family-run company with just under 8 hectares of land to cultivate ’on the hills of morainic origin in three different plots for a total of 45 thousand vine stocks“.

Bengodii - of culture and other pleasures - UN ROSA, È UN ROSA, È UN ROSA... VALTÈNESI

Bengodii - of culture and other pleasures
In particular, this one from Cantrina winery, a company from Bedizzole (BS), is a very simple pink, as if just blooming, very faint, a watercoloured carmine. It somehow announces the barely suffused scents of small, ripening red fruits, slow notes of fresh flowers and embraces some very evanescent scents that briefly touch me. This is a pink Valtènesi, made only from Groppello grapes.
