Cantrina: the first twenty years - Lavinium
We have known Cristina Inganni for many years, practically since the beginning of her adventure in the world of wine; she had been introduced to us by a producer friend in Lugana and so we were able to taste her wines several times over the years.
Later we also met Diego Lavo, who later became co-owner of the Cantrina winery.
Cantrina is a small hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole. It was here in 1999 that Cristina Inganni decided to carry on the dream of her husband Dario Dattoli, a Brescian restaurateur - who had died in an accident the year before - who was passionate about French wines, and had planted some ten years earlier some vines for the production of wines to be consumed in his own premises.
Diego Lavo, who had a company specialising in planting vineyards, came to her aid in this venture.
Thus were born the first three wines, marketed from the 1999 vintage. (...)
