Cantrina makes it three at the “Merlot d'Italia” - Brescia Oggi

Brescia Oggi dedicates an article to Azienda Agricola Cantrina after winning third prize at the Best Merlot of Italy exhibition, here are the highlights: Cantrina makes it three at the “Merlot d'Italia” show (...) Cantrina triumphs again in Aldeno and opens the door to the «autochthonous»: the winery from Bedizzole, managed by Cristina Inganni with her husband Diego Lavo, won for the third consecutive time the title of «best IGT label of previous vintages» at the Mostra dei Merlot d'Italia in Aldeno (Tn), an increasingly prestigious event dedicated exclusively to this prestigious grape variety. The award went to «Nepomuceno 2004», the flagship label of this small winery that for years has been distinguishing itself for a very special approach to the viticulture of the area, focused above all on the nuances and characteristics that the unique terroir of the Valtenesi can offer to the «repertoire» of great international wines. Cantrina is a tiny rural hamlet in the municipality of Bedizzole, in the Brescia hinterland of Lake Garda. But it is also the name of the beautiful winery of Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo, founded in 1999. (...) The range of labels offered by the Cantrina company has naturalness, integrity and respect for the land as its common thread. The Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello '23, which we awarded for the best value for money in the region in the Gambero Rosso's Berebene 2025 guide, is also a spokesman for these demands.

The name of the winery is borrowed from “a tiny rural village of Valtènesi located in the municipality of Bedizzole, in the Brescia hinterland of Lake Garda in Lombardy”. In fact, it is in Cantrina that Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo live and work, the founders of this small, strictly family-run company with just under 8 hectares of land to cultivate ’on the hills of morainic origin in three different plots for a total of 45 thousand vine stocks“.

Bengodii - of culture and other pleasures
In particular, this one from Cantrina winery, a company from Bedizzole (BS), is a very simple pink, as if just blooming, very faint, a watercoloured carmine. It somehow announces the barely suffused scents of small, ripening red fruits, slow notes of fresh flowers and embraces some very evanescent scents that briefly touch me. This is a pink Valtènesi, made only from Groppello grapes.
