Cantrina - Magazyn Wino

(...) It is hard to believe that the winery run by Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo has resisted a (international) change of vines in the first place. The enthusiasm of this couple for the local species and first and foremost their great winemaking ability make Cantrina today the most prestigious winery in the Garda hinterland. There is not a wine in their range that is not good. Everything they produce, however, is in pharmaceutical quantities - the vineyards in Bedizzole, not far from the lake, amount to 6 hectares. The Rine 2007 is a studied, elegant, very precise, rounded blend of Riesling, Chardonnay and Manzoni crossbreed. Groppello is treated here like Pinot Noir. The 2008 Groppello stood out for its freshness of fruit and lightness of matter. In contrast, the Zerdi 2006, which is made from the Rebo grape variety, is a generous, sanguine, somewhat wild wine, were it not for the fact that it stays just the right amount of time in oak casks. The Nepomuceno 2005 could easily fall into the category of ’fluff puppet“ if it were not intelligently vinified and aged. This generous, concentrated and fruity blend of Merlot, Marzemino and Rebo is expertly aged in barrels (barriques and tonneaux) and the softness fades into elegance. Il Corteccio and Eretico are two pinot noir-based wines: the former, 2007, is lighter, very Bourgogne in style, classic style of a dry raisin wine (40 days of drying) is more generous and concentrated with a lacquer note; less cheerful, but with greater ageing potential. The Sole di Dario 2005, is a blend of Sauvignon, Semillon and Riesling, a pretty passito with an aroma of oranges, candied fruits and wildflower honey. (...) PDF

The designer lady - The Day

The Cantrina winery is a dream, shattered by tragedy, reborn in hope. Thanks to the strength and tenacity of Cristina Inganni, from interior decorator to wine expert. That beautiful old mansion overlooking the hills of the Valtènesi, surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from the old village and the 18th-century church, had appealed to Dario Dattoli, a Calabrian all-star, a revolutionary entrepreneur in the city's restaurant industry. It was a return to the land for him, there was a great passion for the vine, which has ancient history there. It was love. A love paid with his life, on a sad morning under the tractor, between the rows of vines, personally spreading pesticides despite working at the restaurant until late at night. A love bequeathed to Cristina together with the estate in the hamlet of Cantrina di Bedizzole. They had been together for a few years, married for one. And she? Away from Brescia, away from work, Dario's dream must continue. Dattoli had founded the Cantrina estate in ’90, in ’98 without him Cristina became one of the women of wine in the province of Brescia. And art?

A good glass in Bedizzole - Orobie

Cantrina: this is not a misprint, it is spelt just like that with an 'r'; it is the name of a hamlet of Bedizzole which, as chance would have it, was once famous precisely for its wine cellars. A pleasant place on the morainic hills sloping down towards Lake Garda, whose beneficial influences can be enjoyed right up here. The Cantrina winery was founded in 1990 thanks to Dario Dattoli, an enterprising character in the Brescian restaurant industry, owner of several establishments in the city, who literally fell in love with wine and decided to produce it himself with the help of his partner Cristina Inganni, who on the other hand graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Supported by the advice of internationally renowned experts, Dattoli planted different varieties of vines, the most suitable for the type of climate and soil, on a total area of around six hectares until 1998. After Dattoli's untimely death in an accident, it was Cristina Inganni who continued along this path, assisted by Diego Lavo, an agricultural expert and wine expert, as well as an experienced mountaineer.

Cantrina di Bedizzole in the front row at the debutante ball at Vinitaly - Giornale di Brescia

(...) He made us taste a wine called Eretico on the day of the Pope's funeral, but any less than pious intention must be firmly denied. Eretico adheres to the rules of oenology and is a Pinot Noir passito produced as a trial in that incredible year for heat and drought that was 2003. The experiment is intriguing and the result even more so. To be tried again. Proposing the Eretico wine is the Cantrina winery, which is making its debut at Vinitaly in a new, aggressive, communicative guise. The product, for those who could find Cantrina di Bedizzole, was already there. Cristina Inganni gloats about her new role and the new attention, which took the form of interested business contacts at Vinitaly. (...)
