Bengodii - of culture and other pleasures - UN ROSA, È UN ROSA, È UN ROSA... VALTÈNESI

In particular, this one from Cantrina winery, a company from Bedizzole (BS), is a very simple pink, as if just blooming, very faint, a watercoloured carmine. It somehow announces the barely suffused scents of small, ripening red fruits, slow notes of fresh flowers and embraces some very evanescent scents that briefly touch me. This is a pink Valtènesi, made only from Groppello grapes. Six hours of maceration on the skins: just the right amount to obtain a very delicate wine (too much always cripples everywhere). A wine without exaggerated pretensions, pleasant to drink, and therefore always or in any case; thanks to its fine acidity and slender yet full body, it goes well with a mixed board in friendship, or with a not too exaggerated pasta dish, but also with a refined fish dinner. A very simple wine, yet endowed with great versatility. Moreover, it is a wine that I like a lot, both because it has a screw cap (a courageous choice, at least at the time, for a company from the hinterland of Brescia and which sells mainly in Italy) and because of its artistically appealing labels.

Il Sole di Dario Vdt 2007 | Azienda Agricola Cantrina di Cristina Inganni, Bedizzole (Brescia) | www.cantrina.it A very original blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Riesling (Dario Dattoli, the founder of Cantrina, to whom the wine was dedicated, wanted it that way) obtained from selected grapes, placed in boxes and left to dry for about three months. Low in alcohol (11°), it has a substantial residual sugar content (190 grams/litre) contrasted by considerable acidity. Thanks to these characteristics and the consistent aromatic content of the starting grapes, the wine plays on perfect balance, in the aromas as well as in the taste. The colour is golden yellow with amber hints.

Inganni (Cantrina): it makes sense to be here as a consortium - Giornale di Brescia

For the second year, the Cantrina winery from Bedizzole is taking part in Vinitaly as part of the Valtènesi consortium stand, this time shared with Lugana. (...) Cantrina produces 35,000 bottles a year and cultivates six hectares of its own land plus two leased hectares. The company exports 30% of its production, but aims to grow further across the border. “That is why we participated in the Prowein trade fair in Düsseldorf, a fundamental opportunity to make ourselves known on foreign markets”.
